Acorn was founded in 1984 by Gary Kenton as a Janitorial Supplies Company. In 1986 Acorn won its first office cleaning contract and has since built on its portfolio. Acorn now provides a range of services to incorporate all areas of Estate Maintenance. Acorn’s main business activities include the following for Housing Associations, Private landlords, Educational Establishments, Sheltered Housing Accommodation, Local Authorities and Offices:
• Cleaning including specialist cleaning such as removal of bodily fluids incl. blood, urine faeces etc.
• Light bulb replacement
• Grounds Maintenance (all areas)
• Weed & Moss Control (PA1 & PA6 certified)
• Window Cleaning via a ladder-less pole fed system
• Bulk Refuse Removal
• Removal of Hazardous and Non-Hazardous waste – we are registered with and have in place a waste carrier’s license with the Environmental Agency. Registration Number CB/HN5073SW
• Gritting
• Graffiti Removal
We also complete the following either contractually or on an ad-hoc basis:
• Supply Janitorial Supplies & Cleaning Materials/Equipment
• Gutter clearances
• Drain Clearance
• Sharps Removal
• Carpet Cleaning
• Hard floor maintenance
• Void Cleans
• Caretaker cover
• Jet Washing of hard standings/bins and bin areas
Acorn’s Head Office is in Mitcham, Surrey, which is approx. 600sq.ft. It has an internal warehouse for the cleaning materials and equipment; it also has a separate warehouse facility on site, which houses our grounds maintenance machinery and equipment, along with our water purifying system for our window cleaning teams along with other specialist machinery including our jet washing system.
