Davies Maguire is an established award-winning Structural and Civil Engineering Design consultancy based in London, Cambridge, and Oxford with a track record for successfully unlocking the value in numerous complex schemes. We work on some of the most iconic structural engineering projects and deliver award-winning, sustainable solutions. Davies Maguire work on projects across the UK and our clients range from individuals to large developers.

The team’s inspiration, creativity, collaboration and passion for delivering outstanding structural and civil engineering design is the catalyst behind our award-winning practice and why clients, architects and contractors repeatedly choose Davies Maguire to engineer their projects. Prior to founding the practice in 2010, the directors worked together for over 20 years.

We provide structural and civil engineering design from inception to completion on a full range of new build and refurbishment projects across numerous industry sectors. Our portfolio includes bespoke housing, large mixed use developments, commercial high-rises, public realm, footbridges and large sculptural artwork. Our most notable projects include 103 Colmore Row in Birmingham, Poplar Riverside for client Berkeley Homes, the Rising Factory with Mace and the Sheldon Square amphitheatre for British Land by Paddington Station. We are renowned for working closely with architects and clients to deliver successful projects, where our innovative design-led approach combined with our knowledge of commercial drivers and the construction process enables us to deliver high value spaces.

Our clients have included many successful developers who have commissioned us for repeat work on the basis of the skill we have in communicating with architects and establishing with them, and the whole team, a clear structural armature around which the whole design can proceed. This is a process, not only built on the directors’ appreciation of architecture and the value of well-planned buildings but also a keen understanding for how they will be built by the substructure and superstructure trade contractors. Their pioneering work with these trades has led to a number of awards and involved them in being commissioned by contractors in the reengineering of others’ complex designs during the tender process.

Our aim is to continue delivering practical and commercially astute designs for our clients, consulting and evolving their brief with them to get both the concept and the small details right. We have a hands on approach more typically found amongst smaller companies while having the depth of knowledge equivalent to that of any of our larger competitors.

For an SME, we pride ourselves on our diverse office in age, skill and experience. Our team is made up of nine nationalities with eight different languages spoken, and includes twice the industry average of women. This variety creates an openness in the office, facilitating a willingness to learn and grow. All of this adds to our dynamic and collaborative atmosphere. All our engineers are accredited with the Institution of Civil or Structural Engineers, and we undergo a rigorous quality assurance process to ensure we deliver to a consistent high-level to all our clients.
