Tatehindle Limited

TateHindle is an established, award-winning, AJ100 architecture and design practice based in London’s Shoreditch – the creative hub next to the Square Mile. We work with high-profile private and public sector clients such as The Crown Estate, Grosvenor, British Land, Urban&Civic, Berkeley Homes, Barratt London and Countryside, amongst many others. We have also been appointed to the frameworks of public bodies such as Transport for London and NHS Property Services, as well as those of housing associations Clarion and Notting Hill Genesis.

TateHindle was founded in 1992, and in 2016, we became an employee-owned trust. Our studio consists of over 40 Architects, Urban Designers, Interior Designers and support staff. Our experienced staff share a deep pool of collective knowledge and a portfolio of many interrelated building types. Our highly skilled team of architects and architectural technicians work to BIM level 2 capability, and the practice has robust processes in place in terms of quality assurance, remote working and business continuity.

We have completed innumerable diverse and challenging projects in our 29-year history, across a variety of sectors. Primarily this includes masterplanning, residential and commercial projects. In the residential and masterplanning sectors, our work ranges from large-scale, residential-led, mixed-use developments to smaller PassivHaus schemes and urban regeneration projects – spanning mixed-tenure developments, apartment living and prime residential.

We are architects and urbanists, design custodians of places where people can live, work and enjoy every shade of life in between. Our vision is to evolve every space, building or community we engage with for the better — for its people and for the planet.

We believe that designing with optimism and innovation can bring about tangible change. By bringing together the best of the past with the hope of the new, we can create architecture that works for the present, and remains sustainable well into the future.

Our approach is built on trust, and the relationships we nurture with our collaborators. We use design to solve non-design problems: we are as much economists, management consultants and negotiators as we are architects.

At TateHindle, we highly value our creative commons — the expertise, spirit and skills we have now shared as a practice for a generation. We continue to build on these strong foundations with imagination because the more we evolve together, the better we become.
